If you like the street market thang they have a good one, including the usual crafts, crap, and lots of ethnic food. Near downtown and has a light rail station right next to it:

There's also some thriving food truck areas which I'll let you survey on your own since they might have relocated. If you find the waffle truck I recommend the Elvis (peanut butter & banana waffle).

And there's Powell's Books, which has to be seen to be believed. And an cool dingy old theater palace called the Hollywood, which not-coincidentally hosts an annual HP Lovecraft Film Festival.

Also, John M. phaedrusdeinus & other-Stacy ladymajor are still out there. Don't know how close you were but I could put you in touch.

The Portland Saturday market, by the by, is my favorite outdoor market ever, and the source of quite a bit of my favorite jewelry.
