Not Prince Hamlet, nor was meant to be - And apparently there's a movie in the works, too.

Have I just not been paying attention? How did I not know about this book?

I'm-a feelin': shocked shocked

I saw an ad for it somewhere on the web, and then it was the 'find the made up story' on "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" this weekend.

I heard about it from Dinosaur Comics.

Don't tease me with that whole movie rumor.

Because I've been keeping it secret from you.

"In the works" is probably misleading. From what I've read, there's maybe some interest in Hollywood, meaning that at some future point, the book might be optioned. And then, at some much further future point, be made into a film.

And the book's not even published yet, and only been making the rounds on the internet for the past couple of weeks. I think you can be forgiven for not knowing about it sooner. :)

Are there any RIGHT reasons to read this?

If there are, they probably wouldn't be anything I'd willingly associate with. Though I suppose for you either "reasearch" or "to review" would be both acceptale and professional reasons.

We were talking about this book yesterday and came to some funny conclusions:

The reason they haven't really combined too many classical romance stories with true horor genres is because its emo and fun to court a vampire, but kind of gross to make out with a zombie.

That reason alone is probably why "the Swamp Thing" didn't have a broader appeal.

"nothing like a cold girl on a warm night"

Also, have you never seen Cemetary Man?

Although, actually, the fact that I can spit out two references to zombie love off the top of my head doesn't necessarily show that zombie romance is in any way popular, and is actually probably better support for your thesis ("zombie lovin is not often a successful theme").
