My sister arrived in town Tuesday afternoon, and I've subsequently been too busy to post. Tuesday, we ran around on a series of errands, had dinner, came home and watched Cloverfield, and fell into bed at 12:30 p.m. Yesterday, we went downtown, took the river/lake boat tour, and walked around downtown a bunch to look at all the new air sculptures (apparently this year's public art theme is about the Windy City, since they're all supposed to interact with the wind in ingenious ways). Then we had drinks on the 96th floor of the John Hancock. (The "Green Envy" martini — raspberry vodka, Blue Curacao, and mango juice — was terrific, and seemed less stupidly overpriced once we decided that they were selling us the drink plus the recipe so we could make them at home.)
I dragged Tara to Fashion Wednesday, and then we went home and watched Premonition, which was much better than I thought it was going to be, until the last three minutes, which made us both want to throw things at the screen. And then we dragged ourselves to bed at 1 a.m.
Today we have so far done nothing — I've caught up on some work projects I wasn't able to finish before she arrived, and she's been sitting around covered with cats. But now the work is done, and it's clearly time to go play.
